My Indoorsy Side
Hello again :) Well, there is one more thing I did yesterday afternoon and that is all said in this picture! My sister and I are avid crafters (her moreso than I) and we are always looking for a new craft. We started making flowers a couple years ago as hair clips and pins to sell at a local craft fair in the fall. These flowers are cute, however they are rather time consuming (small picture)
This past weekend my sister purchased a felt flower to show me we have a new pattern to work on for the winter. All you have to do to create one of these simple and cute flowers is cut 6 circles out of your choice color of felt, about 2 1/2 to 3 inches in diameter, depending on how big you want your flower to be, cut around the edges of the circle to make them wavy (this adds the effect of petals), then fold the flowers in half twice and hot glue! I hot glue the inside center when I folded the flower in half and then again in the second fold, then cut a smaller circle to glue four of the petals to, making a circle, and stand the last two up in the middle and glue them in! the whole process took about 20 minutes and it was my first one! of added detail you could bedazzle your petals or add leaves. Pins or hair clips could be glued or sewn to the back for a cute purse or hair decoration :)
My Outdoorsy Side
Hello World,
Not a lot has happened in my life since my last post but there are a few things I will mention. :)
On Sunday I went on a hike with my dad around our 40 acres and we came across a few interesting things. There have been a couple bobcat sightings on our land this fall so we went looking for where they(it) might be living. There's one place near the edge of out land where there are some tree stands set up for hunting and we often put a trail camera on the fence, and one night we got pictures of a bobcat on the trail camera. Not far from that, my dad watched one walk 20 yards in front of him in broad daylight along the edge of a field while he was in a tree stand. Between these two spots there is big oak tree at the top of a hill where the land drops down on either side to a creek below. under the tree there is a definite animal dwelling that has been dug out. Yesterday we saw that there had been quite a bit of traffic around the hole and the earth was very packed down. we looked in the creek bed for foot prints but it hasn't been wet enough lately for the mud to be that soft and the creek was very rocky in that area.
When we left this spot we hiked up and around the field where the bobcat had been seen and my dad spotted a deer carcass laying in the trees. It was a small 8 point buck that didn't appear to have been shot with anything, but it had definitely been laying there for a while. The hide was still attached to the head, otherwise we would have taken it to boil it and keep the antlers. There was the nastiest green slime all over the side of the deer that was on the ground. The body had been picked clean by coyotes and other animals. My dad plans to go back in the spring and retrieve the head. We walked across the field, by some tree stands, and around into another area of land where deer had scraped their antlers on 10+ saplings and scraped the bark off. We got into some nasty briars here and one even snagged my forehead! I have thorn scrapes on areas I didn't even know were exposed when we walked by. We walked down one of our four-wheeler trails and over a bridge all the children in my family call "the troll bridge." Down by the troll bridge there are a couple large oaks that don't look like they should even be standing. One of them reaches far out over the creek bed and looks barely suspended by the roots still holding into the ground on the other side. It's a really awesome tree, i'll take a picture and post it soon. I don't know what i was thinking! Under the other tree there is a hole also clearly in habited by some small creature.
However, it isn't too small because we found numerous bones where it sat outside of its hole and ate smaller animals. There was what we decided must be a muskrat scull along with bones much to big to be squirrel, but possibly raccoon. We found some footprints in the sand under these trees. Some are definitely raccoon, but I have high hopes of some of theses being bobcat tracks! I'll keep you updated on sitings!

Just me

So I've been thinking about my blog for sometime now and have decided its just going to reflect who I am or what I do. I don't some big idea or goal like cooking my way thought Julia Child's cookbook or updating my friends and family on my worldly travels. I'll just tell you about crafts I'm working on, food I'm experimenting with, and how school is going. So, to all of you out there on the internet, welcome to the life of Sara Rose!
Today I'm just having a lazy day. I'm sitting in the living room of my parents house with my dad. He's dozing and watching the Falcons Vs Giants playoff game. We don't really care who wins, because Green Bay will beat them anyway! Despite my lazy day, I do need to study some tonight. We have a cardio test in my Assessment and Pathophysiology class on tuesday morning. I thought nursing school would be fairly easy when I was in high school. I never had trouble keeping my grades up before. Also, I know this is mean and stereotypical, but there are a lot of nurses that I see and think how in the Hell did you get a nursing license??
It's like they have no common sense. However, nursing school is much harder than you would think. to make matters worse, you have to get 78% to pass. The grading scale is a lot harder than regular classes at my college. None the less, I am managing to make it though my second year so far. I need to pass every single test though which is harder than it sounds. Studying is the only way and that is what I'll do! Right now I'm studying for PN Boards as well as for class tests. I will take boards on 1/27/12 and then if (and when!) I pass I will get my nursing license and be able to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). This is a picture of me (the blonde) and my friend Tonni on the day of our LPN pinning, which is like nursing graduation.

Stormy Warren (Storm Warning)
(to the tune of Storm Warning by Hunter Hayes)
I'm gonna wish I had a Stormy Warren
I'm gonna wish I had his show
I'm gonna wish I had a little Luke, Billy or Deirks on my radio.
Some kind of country music,
To brighten up my day!
I got a feelin by the time the night finds the mornin
I'm gonna wish I had a Stormy Warren

What is love?
“Love is a temporary madness; it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of eternal passion. That is just being in love, which any fool can do. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Those that truly love have roots that grow towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossoms have fallen from their branches, they find that they are one tree and not two.” - Louis de Bernieres

Questioning
Currently, my blog is in questioning. I'm not sure whether i should keep it or not, because i don't really know what i'm doing. this is like trying something new, but.. whats the point other than i'm literally just talking to myself. I might as well just rant for now.
I'm sitting at the kitchen table eating chili. My dogs are freaking out because they think they're going to get some. (Wrong.) Molly wont stop whining her high-pitched cry, and Emmitt jumps up from the floor every time i make a sudden movement. He's really getting old. this is his 12th winter, and he's a black lab. It could easily be his last winter, as sad as that is. My mom really does make wonderful chili. Not too spicy, just enough for a little kick. She actually made it with ground turkey this time because she didn't know if my boyfriend would be having any. (He doesn't eat red meat.) but its still pretty good.
Why are dogs irises so large? its almost freaky if you see the whites of a dogs eye, but in humans its completely normal. Odd.
I've decided that my blog needs to have a point. Like in Julie & Julia where she blogs every day about the Julia Childs recipe she made. Or like the people who have artwork or pictures that they upload. But i just don't know what to do.
please help.

First Blog
Alright, confession number one - I've never blogged before and I have no idea what I'm doing. Do I tell you all of my life experiences, thoughts, feelings, and ideas? I'm not sure I'm heartless enough to bore you like that. We'll see I guess! It's not like anyone is going to read this anyway. Well I guess thats enough until I figure out what I'm actually doing.
